Friends & Family,
I’ve got some exciting news :) This April, Joshua and I will be traveling to Moldova on a short-term mission trip!
Joshua and I have been attending Buckhead Church here in Atlanta for a few years now. Already the church has made a huge impact on our lives. We are grateful to be in a place where we have the ability to serve in another country, and we feel a sense of responsibility to take advantage of this opportunity. This experience will give us a chance to serve God and become an active part of His much greater purpose.
From April 9-17, our 12-person team will be traveling to Moldova, where we will spend time working with our church’s global partner to assist a local orphanage. We don’t have a lot of details yet, but we will keep you updated over the next few weeks as we learn more.
I know that all of us have been affected in some way by the recent changes in our economy, and I don’t want to discredit that. Located in Eastern Europe, northeast of Romania, Moldova is about the same size as Maryland and has a population of approximately 4.3 million. They are considered to be the poorest country in Europe.
Again, we are so grateful for this opportunity. We know that not everyone is able to participate in a trip like this, but you can still be a valuable part of this team. Most importantly, we need prayer – for wisdom as we seek to meet peoples’ needs in another culture, safety as we travel, and an attitude that is flexible and ready to serve. Financially, each team member needs to raise $2,800 ($5,600 total for both Joshua and Kimber) to cover the cost of the trip. If, in addition to prayer, you would like to support this mission financially, you can make an online contribution at www.Goglobalx.org . Click “give” (in the top right corner), then fill the form in with your information, select “Moldova” and “Moldova Orphanage” and enter either of our names. Also, if you choose the electronic option, please send an e-mail to Kimber (kimbergarrison@gmail.com) to let us know you made a contribution. The online option does not let us know who makes donations. You may also mail a check directly to Kimber at the address listed below. Please make checks payable to North Point Ministries (important - do not include my name on the check). All donations for this project are tax deductible. No gift, whether through prayer or finance, is too small. We must have 50% of our trip cost by March 3, and the remainder by March 24, so please help us attain our goal as soon as possible.
Thank you so much for being a part of what God is doing around the world. I can’t wait to see what He has planned for our trip, and I can’t wait to share my experiences with all of you when I return! Please keep checking our blog for the latest updates, and we will also post pictures and stories about our trip when we return.
Thanks,
Joshua Biles and Kimber Garrison
